Scholarship
|
The Ser.In.Ar., agency responsible for Forlì-Cesena
in the administrative section of the University of Bologna
at Forlì, will award a scholarship of
€500 to the candidate who emerges as the most deserving of the
masters program. The amount of the scholarship cannot exceed the amount of
tuition paid by the individual recipient. The above award will
automatically go to the student who obtains the highest score in the final
examination; in the case of a tie the candidate with the highest percentage
of attendance automatically wins; if there is still a tie the younger
candidate wins. Based on the number of students enrolled, Ser.In.Ar. reserves the right
to grant other scholarships of €400,00 each.

Professional profile
The objective of the course is to train translators who will specialize in
fields pertaining to screen translation: experts in the translation and
localization of audiovisual works especially focusing on dubbing and
subtitling for TV, cinema and in business. The course is aimed at offering
specific training for the development of innovative applications of
audiovisual translation, such as the translation of videogames, applications
in portable technology, and subtitling for the stage. The Masters course will
focus on many forms of audiovisional
translation that are still untapped resources in Italy, such as audiodescription (for the visually impaired)
and respeaking (real time subtitling for the deaf
and hard of hearing). In addition to technical translator
training, the course provides a general overview of the dubbing and
subtitling industry across Europe, the
existing legislation as far as multilingual productions are concerned, as
well as analytical methodological tools for those wishing to enter the field
of research.

A three year degree in any area of the Humanities
Language Knowledge
A strong command of Italian and English.
Other requirements
The knowledge of a third language and experience in the field of translation
and, in particular, in the field of multimedia translation are considered
preferential criteria for candidates.
Selection Criteria
Candidates will be selected on the strength of their CVs followed by a 15
minute interview in English. In the event that candidate registration exceeds
150 persons, the oral interview in English will be replaced by a written
examination in English.

Class
Participation
Students are required to attend the Masters course on a regular basis

e-learning modality
The participants will be provided with learning material for e-learning that
will integrate the lessons, workshops and practical laboratories.
Internships
A 300-hourwork experience internship is required
during summer months
– 12 CFU.
Final Examination
The final exam will consist of a written test or audiovisual production
assignment in relation to one or more of the areas studied during the
course. It will possible to
prepare this in cooperation with the company or agency where the internship
is held. The student’s final
written or audiovisual work will be followed by an oral presentation and
discussion in front of a board of examiners – 2 CFU.
